Korea Employment Information Service Hosts the 5th Korea New Occupation and Future Job Ideas Contest

The Korea Employment Information Service (KEIS) (President Kim Young-jung) announced that it will host the 5th Korea New Occupation and Future Job Ideas Contest from July 15 to September 24.
Now in its fifth year the Korea New Occupation and Future Job Ideas Contest has been held annually since 2020 to gather various innovative ideas for new and future jobs that can drive societal innovation and job creation reflecting the changes in society due to digital transformation environmental sustainability and the post-COVID-19 era.
The themes of this years contest are:
Job creation ideas related to new occupations that KEIS has discovered and proposed.
Creative ideas for newly emerging future jobs.
Additionally for teenagers to encourage active exploration and consideration of future careers a third theme has been added:
New and future jobs that they envision themselves working in by 2050.
The contest is open to adults and teenagers (individuals or teams of up to five members) who are interested in the world of future jobs. Applicants should submit their ideas using the application form provided on the contest website (www.newjobidea.com).
A total of 15 awards will be given out (7 for the general category 7 for the youth category and 1 for a guiding teacher). The top prize winner will receive the Minister of Employment and Labor Award and a cash prize. Other awards including excellence encouragement and innovation idea awards will be accompanied by the KEIS Presidents Award and cash prizes. Additionally a Guiding Teacher Award will be given to one career guidance teacher from the middle or high school with the most participants along with a gift voucher worth 1 million KRW for the school providing an opportunity for students to explore future careers together.
