The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (Minister Kang Do-hyung) will hold a policy meeting with the Marine and Fisheries 2030 Advisory Committee (hereafter referred to as the Advisory Committee) on July 19th (Friday) at the Government Complex Sejong. The meeting will be attended by Deputy Minister Song Myung-dal youth advisors committee members and policy officials from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.

The Ministry has created this forum to ensure that the policy ideas proposed by the Advisory Committee are not just suggestions but can be incorporated into actual policies. It serves as a communication platform where committee members and ministry policy officials can gather to discuss and collaborate.

The first term of the Advisory Committee launched this year aims to convey and communicate the opinions of the younger generation and provide policy improvement advice. It is divided into four subcommittees focusing on marine fisheries and shipping. The committee has been actively participating in advisory activities through various policy events and subcommittee meetings.

During the meeting the committee will discuss key advisory topics selected through field events and subcommittee meetings including revitalizing youth fisheries and rural migration supporting young marine and fisheries researchers and promoting youth businesses.

Additionally following the policy meeting there will be a subsequent event presided over by Youth Advisor Park Sung-min who heads the Advisory Committee. The 2nd Regular General Meeting of the Advisory Committee will be held to review new agendas and discuss activity plans for the second half of the year.

Deputy Minister Song Myung-dal stated We will continue to actively reflect the voices of the youth in the policy-making process of marine and fisheries policies to enhance policy responsiveness and effectiveness.
