The Ministry of Health and Welfare (Minister Cho Kyuhong) announced the hosting of the 2nd AI Drug Discovery Competition JUMP AI(.py) 2024 (hereinafter referred to as the competition) from August 5 (Monday) to September 23 (Monday) providing an opportunity to develop innovative AI drug discovery models.

This competition aims to award researchers who develop excellent models predicting the IRAK4 IC50 activity values using the IRAK4 IC50 dataset (provided by Daewoong Pharmaceutical) which is related to autoimmune and inflammatory disease therapeutics. The competition is expected to contribute to the optimization of drug discovery candidates through the use of artificial intelligence.

The competition is open to both domestic and international researchers interested in AI-driven drug discovery. The awards ceremony will take place on October 31 (Thursday) at the AI Pharma Conference where the grand prize (Minister of Health and Welfare Award) will be given to one team (prize money of 10 million KRW) and three excellence awards (President of the Promotion Agency Award Chairman of the Association Award Sponsor Award) will be given to three teams (each with prize money of 4 million KRW).

Additionally the competition results will be made public through the AI Drug Discovery Education Platform of the Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association (www.laidd.org).
