All of the arts have the right that protect art from imitation without allowed authority from other people protected authority from abuse. namely copy right. There is a word Genius are ephemeral For example Kurt Cobain who is a genius leader of band Nirvana or Jimi Hendrix who is a genius guitarist passed away in his age 27th. This type of genius leave an great and various art of work in their life time surprisingly there is a similar figure in the art field. Today in the picture of all men introduces an Egon Schieles art of work who passed away at an early age 28th.

Egon was born in a rural Tulin of Austrias Northeast region in 1980. He was raised by father who was a stationmaster in Tulin trainstation and mother who was from Czech Republic. Especially he spent many times in the train station with his father so he drew a train in the sketch book by being fascinated by the figure of the train.


But at the age of 15 his father was dead of syphilis and was raised by uncle. Uncle who realized Egons talent in painting let him study painting and enter the Kunstgewerbeschule (National academy of arts) of Vienna in 1906 at the age he became 16.

His admission was shocking at that time because it was the youngest admission in the Vienna academy of arts in its history. At that time there was Gustav Klimt who represents the country painter as a professor in the school. After the admission as his genius had been known meeting with Gustav Klimt was achieved. Klimt who became old already played a role as a kind mentor to the young painters. He especially took care Egon who has special talent at a young age by changing his painting with him introducing model and mediate sponsor company.

Egon followed Klimt very well. In early period he drew Klimts hommage art and join Klimts separatism. However at that time Klimts separatism was banned in the school. Egon thought it was conservative and negative so he drop out of school after attending the school for 3 years in 1909 and played a role by participating Neukunstgruppe which was new artist group.

After leaving the academy as participating the new artist group he started doing a study about sexuality of humanity since he got the freedom for deciding topic of art. With help of Klimt separatist he opened first personal exhibition on April 1911. Viennas citizen who had expected separatist felt freshness and shocked facing Egons Self portrait which gave the feeling of disbanded.


Egon had a trauma that links everything including himself to an artistic tool and topic of painting especially he had a strong obsession for his young sister Gerti Schiele. For this reason his father scolded him drawing nude of young sister. but Egon met 17 years old Wally in 1911 who was model of klimt so subject of obsession was changed to her.

After the time Wally became a model of his masterpiece through living together with Egon for 4 years. They felt tired of Vienna and moved on to small city of southern Bohemia Krumau and started living together. Wally also became a Muse who gives inspiration for art of work but living with 17 years old under age Wally became a back blast for Egon.


The rumor spread out which they drew a nude in their house. After Egon hired a nude model who was teenager in the town citizen started to see him with bad impression. Finally with their unique lifestyle and ridiculous figure Egon and Wally was kicked out from the town. However two person didnt give up and start finding a new studio and moved on to Neulengbach.

After moving his residence Egons studio became a haunt for the juvenile delinquents. Of course citizen felt hostility so they reported to the police. Egon was arrested for underage kidnap in 1912 and police confiscated the nude paintings in the studio by thinking those as porno. Futhermore Schile stayed in a prison cell for 21 days until being sentenced and after the guit was sentenced was imprisoned for 3 days.

Various painting was completed with Wally as a model during fiercely living together. In 1912 from Wallys portrait to Wally in black stockings Couple and Wally and me Egon handled various topics of men and womens love with his special pictorial style. Especially he drew the his own nude.


I dont think I am receiving punishment preferably becoming innocent. It is a criminal act to restraint and oppress an artists. It is a killing act of killing sprouted life to restraint and oppress an artist. -Egon Schiele-

It is the fact that there is a negative appraisal about Egon Schile as a Libertine but his only justification is that nude painting was actually old topic in art field so we should not only attach label to Egon as Libertine. Nowadays among the masterpiece in most expensive art of work there are of great importance nude painting. The right approach to the nude painting is that appreciating how the painting expressed the beauty of body compared to other nude painting.

Of course Egon got in jail for kidnapping of underage and right after being released was separated with Wally. He left numerous paintings through Wally but he cannot live same pattern as before that causes public criticism any more. Therefore he strives to get a stability by marrying Edith Schile from the rich family.

However the thinking of Wally could not be forgotten. Finally after the separation he drew a painting of Wally as a model which was Men and a girl and it changed to Death and a girl after Wally was dead just one day before the exhibition. It was a last painting of which was given as a present to his muse.

Early 1918 years started with great feeling after finishing Egons exhibition successfully. Moreover it seems that dream of stabilized life started after his wife Edith became pregnance. Egon imagined child who would meet soon and launched painting Family but October of that year was very terrible month.

Spain flu infectious disease that is rampant in the history was spread in Europe. His wife Edith was infected for unprecedented pandemic that killed tens of millions and after the 4 days later young painter Egon was dead of spain flu.


Egon Schile who proves his genius by entering Vienna art academy at the youngest age. He gives shock to the audience with eroticism and provocative touch in his life but he remained a representative painter who represents Austria with special paint style. As ephemeral painter did Egon was regarded as an unfortunate figure.

Nowadays technology that makes new songs and reproduces dead persons voice with technology advance are being developed. In Tv program Once again AI project singer the late Kim Hyun-sik the late Kim Kwang-suks voice was reproduced and it was focused.
