KIPO and Naver Conduct Practical Training on IP Dispute Response for Online Sellers
The International Intellectual Property Training Institute of the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) (Commissioner Kim Wan-ki) in collaboration with Naver Education Center announced that it will hold practical training and a communication session on IP dispute response for online sellers on August 7 (Wednesday) at 4:40 PM at Naver Square Yeoksam (Gangnam-gu Seoul).
This training is part of a customized IP education program for online sellers developed by KIPO and Naver to prevent intellectual property disputes on e-commerce platforms such as Naver Smart Store.
The training will select 35 outstanding participants from Navers Self-Commerce School* for online sellers. The curriculum will delve deeply into common types of disputes that occur on e-commerce platforms prevention of rights infringements and dispute resolution procedures all based on real-world cases.

Following the training a communication session titled “Protecting Intellectual Property with KIPO” will be led by the Director of the International Intellectual Property Training Institute. KIPO aims to gather feedback on the difficulties and inconveniences faced by online sellers in their daily operations to improve IP systems and frameworks.
Im Jin-hong Director of the International Intellectual Property Training Institute at KIPO stated “Online sales involve distinctive elements that require attention from an intellectual property perspective making tailored education for sellers essential.” He added “We expect this training and communication session to enhance online sellers’ understanding of intellectual property rights and KIPO will continue to refine the relevant educational framework.”
Starting in September KIPO will also offer the “Practical Guide to Intellectual Property Rights” a customized IP education content for online sellers through the National Intellectual Property Education Portal* and “Naver Business School**” as an ongoing resource. Anyone can access these sites and take the courses for free.
