Imagining the Future Home with Citizen Ideas! Intelligent Home Ideas Competition Launched
Open to Anyone Interested in Intelligent Homes from August 12 to September 13
The Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Lee Jong-ho) has announced the launch of the Intelligent Home Ideas Competition to discover innovative and creative models for smart homes and to raise public awareness of intelligent home services.
The concept of home traditionally seen as just a living space is evolving into an intelligent home that offers convenient and smart services by integrating artificial intelligence. This transformation is helping to address pressing social issues such as the increase in single-person households and the aging population. With this competition the Ministry aims to identify feasible and socially impactful intelligent home models based on the creative ideas of the public ultimately contributing to the improvement of the quality of life for citizens.
The competition is open to anyone interested in intelligent homes with submissions accepted from August 12 (Monday) to September 13 (Friday). After a thorough review process five finalist ideas will be selected. The top idea will receive the Minister of Science and ICT Award and a cash prize of 3 million KRW. The runner-up will be awarded the President of the National IT Industry Promotion Agency Award and 2 million KRW while three other excellent ideas will receive the President of the Korea Artificial Intelligence Smart Home Industry Association Award and 1 million KRW each.
The selected ideas will also be presented at the AIoT Week Korea (October 30 to November 1 COEX) where the winners will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas. Additionally professional consultations for startups and commercialization will be provided to support the further development of these ideas.
A representative from the Ministry of Science and ICT stated This competition is a unique opportunity for citizens to envision the future of residential living through their creative ideas. We are committed to supporting the spread of innovative intelligent home models.
