KIPO Opens Enrollment for Fall 2024 Intellectual Property Degree Program (August 13-20)

The International Intellectual Property Training Institute (IIPTI) of the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) led by Commissioner Kim Wan-ki is accepting online applications for the Fall 2024 semester of its Intellectual Property degree program from August 13 (Tuesday) to August 20 (Tuesday).

The Intellectual Property major is an online bachelor’s degree program covering subjects such as intellectual property law litigation and IP creation and management strategies. The program is free of charge and open to anyone with a high school diploma or an equivalent level of education. Upon fulfilling the degree requirements* students can earn a Bachelor of Intellectual Property degree issued by the Minister of Education.

(For bachelors degree holders) 48 credits in the major; (For high school graduates and associate degree holders) 60 credits in the major + 30 credits in general education + 50 elective credits (total 140 credits).
Additionally students enrolled in universities that have an academic credit transfer agreement with KIPO can have their completed courses recognized as credits towards their degree at their home institution. For this semester credit exchange will be available with 11 universities including Chungnam National University and Jeonbuk National University.

Catholic Kwandong University Konyang University Kyungil University Keimyung University Tongmyong University Jeonbuk National University Jeju National University Chungnam National University Korea Polytechnic University Halla University and Hansei University.
Enrollment is on a first-come first-served basis and the Fall semester will run for 15 weeks from September 3 (Tuesday) to December 16 (Monday). A total of 11 courses including Introduction to Intellectual Property and Trademark Law will be offered this semester with students allowed to enroll in up to seven courses (totaling 21 credits).
