The First Meeting of “G-Artians” - A Convergence of Science and Art
United for the Positive Influence of Intellectual Property Advancing the Development and Industrialization of Convergent Content

To nurture culture and arts blossomed through science and technology approximately 90 scientists artists and social leaders from Daejeon gathered for their first meeting pledging to spread the positive influence of intellectual property.
The inaugural meeting of “G-Artians” which aspires to be the “Davos Forum of Daejeon” was held on the afternoon of the 22nd at Edison Hall located on the 5th floor of WIPSquare drawing significant attention to its future endeavors.
G-Artians is a gathering of scientists inventors cultural artists experts from various fields and entrepreneurs who aspire to spread positive influence through the sharing of talents and knowledge. With a goal of reaching 300 members the organization aims to achieve sustainable development and social contribution through collaboration and sharing among its members.
At the first meeting themed Connecting Day Professor Myungseok Kim an Honorary Professor at KAIST and soprano Hyunju Koh who were selected as the G-Artians of the Month gave lectures on the topic of Homo Artians and shared their talents in music.
Although Daejeon is regarded as the capital of science and technology in South Korea the collaboration and integration between research complexes industries and Daejeon citizens have been slow. Among these artists have been significantly excluded from science and technology development and research. This new initiative represents a progressive step toward a more integrated convergence of science and art from the private sector.
This meeting is expected to accelerate the development of the cultural industry with the direct involvement of artists. It is also likely to be welcome news for cultural artists eager to engage with rapidly advancing technologies like artificial intelligence.
Professor Myungseok Kim of KAIST emphasized that for the development of culture content that merges science and art and for it to grow into a cultural industry It is desirable to form a research group where artists designers engineers and scientists meet. He also stressed that for continuous content development the foundation of nurturing the cultural industry must be established.
Soprano Hyunju Koh added For adventurous artists to develop new content it is essential for artists and scientists to meet more frequently.
Suwoo Kim CEO of WIPSquare who organized the G-Artians Secretariat announced a groundbreaking support plan for G-Artians members at the event.
To promote networking among members WIPSquare will provide free access to its seven halls including a 200-seat multi-purpose hall. In addition WIPSquare will support promotional marketing activities for artists and offer free services such as the production of video autobiographies for members and access to shared office spaces.
