Intellectual property is a strong foundation for innovative growth National Assembly Speaker Park Byung-suk said

National Assembly Speaker Park Byung-seok said in a video congratulatory speech at the ceremony marking Intellectual Property Day on the 4th Intellectual property will be a strong foundation on the way to overcome the outbreak of COVID-19 and move toward innovative growth adding The National Assembly will also make efforts to provide legislative and financial support.

The Intellectual Property Day was organized to commemorate September 4 when Jikji Simcheyojeol was listed as a UNESCO Memory of the World and held a ceremony every year to mark the third anniversary this year.

There should be a broad consensus on the importance and value of the intellectual property for the future of the Republic of Korea. Park said adding that the government should pre-emptively respond to changes in technology and market.

He also stressed the need for a leap to become a leading power in the global intellectual property market.
The National Assembly also concluded its congratulatory speech by saying that it will make efforts to establish a virtuous cycle of intellectual property ecosystem and provide legislative and budget support.

First of all congratulations on the 3rd Intellectual Property Day.

Thank you all. Jeong Sang-jo chairman of the National Intellectual Property Commission who organized the ceremony Choi Ki-young Minister of Science Technology Information and Communication and the people involved.

I would also like to say hello to those who are participating now online.

September 4th is the day Jikji Simcheyojeol was registered as UNESCO Memory of the World.

We will once again remember the excellence of our people on the Knowledge Property Day which was designated in commemoration of this day.

I hope it will be a chance to share and think about the value of intellectual property once again.



The world is now in chaos with the outbreak of COVID-19.
No one can predict what the post-Corona era will look like.

Its hard to predict when and how this will unfold and even when it will subside.

However one thing is clear: on the way to overcoming the crisis and moving toward innovative growth Intellectual property will be a solid foundation.
