Knowledge property is currency. Lee Ga-hee chairman of the Intellectual Property Storytelling Association said.

On September 1 Lee Ga-hee chairman of the Intellectual Property Storytelling Association signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Wip News (CEO Kim Soo-woo) on storytelling of intellectual property.

Chairman Lee Ga-hee is the head of the Korea Storytelling Research Institute chairman of the Association of Writers in Daejeon and chairman of the IP Storytelling Research Committee of the World Intellectual Property Association of Korean Practitioners (WPA) and is a columnist and poet.

1.Q: Please introduce the Intellectual Property Storytelling Association:

▶Chairman Lee Ga-hee: Around 2014 Director Kim Ho-won who was the 22nd president of the Korean Intellectual Property Office at KAIST took a special lecture titled Four Conditions for Knowledge Property Power. Later at the luncheon former commissioner Kim Ho-won said Hard-won patents have tearful stories in them. The patents that hold those stories are valuable and Lee Kwang-hyung vice president of KAIS said The patents with beautiful stories shine even more. I had majored in literature which was why I felt that intellectual property was something difficult but I came to think that if I incorporate the story into intellectual property it would play an important role in promotion. Thats how I started Intellectual Property Storytelling Association.

2.Q: What made you become interested in intellectual property?

▶Chairman Lee Ga-hee: I thought intellectual property was difficult and not my area. Intellectual property consists of patents trademarks and copyrights. Among them the copyright field is very wide and while working on Advanced Intellectual Property Strategy Program I thought I can do well in the copyright field its my field.

▶Chairman Lee Ga-hee: I think 50 million people in 50 countries are needed.

4.Q: What do you think is the best intellectual property in the world?

▶Chairman Lee Ga-hee: For me it is Tesla which gave electric cars birth in our everyday life.

5.Q: Please introduce your representative intellectual property.

▶Chairman Lee Ga-hee: There are two books of poetry an essay book several theoretical books and more. There is also a book called Intellectual Property Storytelling which is a co-authored book by Dr. Lee Shin-ji a scientist and Park Sung-pil a professor at KAIST.
In 2016 we combined intellectual property and storytelling to write the book.

6.Q: Please introduce someone around you who holds intellectual property such as patent technology.

▶Chairman Lee Ga-hee: Song Sung-myung CEO of Pushpool invented the door lock that combines antibacterial and antiviral function against COVID-19.

7.Q: What does Korea need to do to become a intellectual property powerhouse?

▶Chairman Lee Ga-hee: Because Intellectual property is thought to be a difficult terrain its necessary to enlighten our people starting from elementary school. We also need a system that enables intellectual property rights to be valued and economically profitable.

8.Q: Please describe intellectual property in one word.

▶Chairman Lee Ga-hee: Intellectual property is the value that opens up the future for me in other words it is money.
