2024 K-Pop World Festival to be Held
Celebrating its 13th Year as a Festival for Global Fans of Korean Pop Music
The 2024 K-Pop World Festival the largest K-pop festival globally co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) and supported by Changwon City and Gyeongsangnam-do Province will hold its final competition on Thursday October 24 at 7:00 PM at the Changwon Sports Complex main stadium.
Marking its 13th anniversary the K-Pop World Festival is a signature public diplomacy event where foreign fans of Korean pop music participate directly. Regional preliminaries were held in 64 Korean embassies and cultural centers across 62 countries.
A total of eight teams* that advanced through the preliminaries will perform in the final round sharing the stage with K-pop stars like Xikers and TripleS. The performance will air on KBS 2TV on Thursday November 7 at 11:40 PM.
Participating countries: Germany (Hamburg) USA (Chicago) Myanmar Sweden Spain Singapore United Kingdom Kazakhstan.
Each year the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strived to increase global Hallyu fans interest in and understanding of Korean culture through the K-Pop World Festival. Moving forward the Ministry plans to further strengthen public diplomacy efforts that connect and engage with global audiences through collaborations with local governments and media outlets.
