From December 1 to 3 the G-Artience 2024 Connecting Week will take place at the Daejeon Convention Center and WIP Square. This international event aims to integrate science technology and cultural arts. Co-hosted by KAIST the Nam June Paik Art Center and the Daejeon Tourism Organization the event embodies a mission to evolve into a global hub for TechArt through creative innovation and convergence.
Far beyond a mere celebration this event aspires to be the starting point for designing the future through the fusion of science technology and art. With global attention G-Artience 2024 Connecting Week is poised to establish South Korea as a leading hub for TechArt.
Young-gak Cho New Media Artist and Studio Shinmedia Representative Explores the Fusion of Art and Technology
Expanding the Boundaries of Art Through Complex Systems
Born in Ulsan in 1986 Young-gak Cho has been expressing the intersection of nature technology virtual and physical environments as an artistic language through complex systems. His works reinterpret the interface where technology society and culture converge using diverse media and cutting-edge technologies. Employing artificial intelligence data science and robotics Cho brings scenarios of the future into the present offering unique perspectives.
Through his art he provides audiences with opportunities to understand the complexities of contemporary society and discover new meanings and values within these layers of intricacy.
A Distinguished Career in Korea and Abroad
Cho majored in Western painting at Chugye University for the Arts and pursued media art studies at Yonsei University’s Graduate School of Communication and the Graduate School of Media Art at Seoul Media Institute of Technology. He has worked with Art Center Nabi and Gentle Monster and he currently serves as an adjunct professor at Sahmyook University’s Graduate School of Integrated Arts and as a lecturer in Ewha Womans University’s Visual Arts Interdisciplinary Program.
His portfolio includes solo exhibitions and participation in prominent group exhibitions at international venues such as Ars Electronica in Austria the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography in Japan and the Paradise Art Lab Festival in Korea. These experiences have earned him global recognition.

“Breaking the Mold with Science and Cultural Arts: A Revolutionary Event Begins”
The event aims to revolutionize K-TechArt as a global TechArt hub.
From the 75-meter LED screen showcasing a symphony of convergence to visionary keynote speeches and stages of creation attendees will experience the awe-inspiring union of science and art. Highlights include AI avatar dance performances EDM shows by virtual idols and a collaborative design of TechArts future by experts from 13 countries. These features will illustrate South Koreas pioneering strides toward the global stage.
