On February 5th of 2021 NCAC (National Copyright Administration of China) had revealed choices of top 10 copyright issues for China founded in 2020.

NCAC’s 10 choices of top 10 copyright issues of 2020 are followed.

1 Improvements in Copyrights Legal System

- In 2020 the Copyright Act has been proclaimed for 30 years therefore overall legal systems are modified as promulgating and amending related regulations and legislations.

- On May 28th of 2020 from the 3rd Conference of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People’s Congress the Civil Code has been passed to be entitled to regulate Intellectual Property Rights.

- On November 11th of 2020 from the 23rd Conference of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People’s Congress the Amendment to the Copyright Law has been passed.

- On December 26th of 2020 from the 24th Conference of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People’s Congress the Amendment to the Criminal Law that is known for raising a legal sentence of Copyright Infringement has been passed.

2 Beijing Treaty on Audiovisual Performance’ comes into force

- On April 28th of 2020 the Beijing Treaty on Audiovisual Performance’ of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has been entered into force.

- This treaty is for protecting performers’ moral and economic rights exclusively which is primarily designated to dramatically enhancing the protection levels of Rights for the international society and is expected to facilitate development for the Industry of Audiovisual Performance.

3 Unveiling Judicial Analysis of Copyright Relations

- In 2020 the Chinese Supreme People’s Court has unveiled as following opinions.

01 Consolidating the protection of rights for copyright relations and copyright itself.

02 An overall peace of judicial protection for the Intellectual Property Rights.

03 Consolidating the disciplinary actions for infringement of Intellectual Property Rights.

4 Consolidating Administrative Execution Supervision of Copyright

- In 2020 NCAC modified the Administrative Execution System by unveiling as followed.

5 1st Trial Verdict : An illegal replica and distribution of the movie Ghost Machine

- The NCAC the Ministry of Industrial Information and Communication the Public Security Department and the National Internet Information Office had conjointly enforced Special Action as ‘Black 2020’ for cracking down on the founded illegal replica and piracy issues : Deleted 323 million and 9400 illegal replica links and closed 2884 piracy sites (APPs) given.

- Following to this Special Action (Black 2020) both the Jiangsu and Yangzhou intermediate peoples courts had particularly sentenced the main culprit (an illegal replica and illegal distribution case of the movie called as Ghost Machine) to 6 years in prison within announcing 5.5 million yuan.

6 Hosting 2020 China Copyright Gold Awards Ceremony

- On December 2nd of 2020 NCAC unveiled results of the 2020 China Copyright Gold Awards

- Six art works are awarded for Best Pictures as ‘Three Body’ etc. Five theoretical learning platforms as ‘Learning to make a country stronger’ are awarded for Supplying Operations Five differed places including the Part 3 and the 5th Amendment of the Supreme People’s Court Civil Trial are awarded for the Protection and Four referred divisions as the Beijing Copyright Offices etc. are awarded for the management awards.

7 2nd Trial Verdict : A Copyright Infringement case of Sports Relay Broadcasting

- On September of 2020 the Beijing Higher Court had conceded the Copyright Ability of the China Soccer Super League Relay Broadcasting from the retrial of Copyright Infringement (of Sina.com and LeTv) and illegal competition therefore the verdict of the 2nd trial has been repealed while maintaining the verdict of the 1st trial.

8 The rapid growth of Copyright Industry

- On December 30th of 2020 the Chinese Academy of Press & Publication had unveiled the final outcomes on the investigating economical contributiveness of the 2019 China Copyright Industry. The announced findings are as followed : For the Industry Value Added about 7.32 trillion yuan that has increased by 10.34% year-over-year and the GDP has been accounted for 7.39%.

9 Opposing Plagiarism of movie staff and internet writers
