Q1. What made you come to WIP News?

Q2. How many countries and how many people need to subscribe to WIP News in order to be named as World Intellectual Property News?

▶Reporter Gim Yong-cheol : Are there about 10000 intellectual property experts in Korea? In that regard I think that in order to be recognized as an intellectual property medium among experts if not the public there should be at least 500000 people in 50 countries.

Q3. Is there any profitable intellectual property that you know?

▶Reporter Gim Yong-cheol : I think the Mickey Mouse owned by Walt Disney is the oldest and a famous intellectual property with a history that has changed the system of intellectual property and copyright.

Q4. Do you have any intellectual property such as copyrights or patents you own or do you have anyone who would like to introduce them to you?

▶Reporter Gim Yong-cheol : Reporter Gim Yong-cheol : I have been broadcasting and writing articles all my life. I think my ability is my intellectual property but because I am an employee of the company it is owned by the company however I think I have made a big contribution.

I recently had a meeting with a company called Quantum Bionics and it made a mask by developing a substance that kills viruses through nanomaterials in atomic units. The concept of electronic medicine is also being established now and I think it will become an intellectual property with great value.

Q5. Do you think that Korea needs more efforts or changes to become a powerhouse in the field of intellectual property?

▶Reporter Gim Yong-cheol : I think its been about 4 years since Ive been dealing with intellectual property professionally. Koreas Representative intellectual property include patents designs copyrights of trademarks but I think we have doctrinaire thoughts about it. It seems to people think that judges one-sided ideas are correct in judging patents.

In fact the interpretation of some technology or literature may differ from person to person. So I think we should make a judgment by reflecting the opinions of more diverse experts in the area of interpretation.

In patent-related trials intellectual property is likely to be valuable and be activated only when institutional improvements are made to reflect the opinions of many experts.

Q6. If you express intellectual property in one wordIntellectual property is OO to me.

▶Reporter Gim Yong-cheol : IP isIntellectual Property right? But I think in other words it is Individual Property. I think that IP comes from individual values imagination and creativity so in my opinion the IP is personal value and imagination.

Q7. What do you want or want to say to WIP News?

▶Reporter Gim Yong-cheol : When we look at an object I think that when we look at it in a one-sided frame we cannot see the object.

And since I think that values ​​are illuminated and revealed through conflicting values I hope that WIP News will be a media that allows us to reflect on ourselves what true values ​​are by illuminating and discovering these various values ​​to inform the public.
