A challenge that aims to find advanced application ideas of ICT technology such as AI and data augmentation and new service ideas in drones.
The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) and Electronics and Telecommunication Research Institute is holding The Data Network and AI (DNA) + drone challenge.
The challenge has three divisions of contest which are designated free and idea and opened to public participation.
Designated contest requires participants to detect missing person in video shoot by drones and data and AI models collected from DNA+drone technology project will be provided.
Free contest asks the process of automatic pilot. Participants must take off evade obstacles to detect sufferers return and land their drones. Idea contests aim to discover original ideas that may construct a DNA+drone ecosystem and reasonable ideas that may be applied to existing businesses.
The designated and free contest are opened until 15th of August and idea contest is opened until the 31st of same month. Superior participants will be rewarded and approved participants may continue the development under support to contribute to the industry.
Lee Chang-yoon MSIT director general of Basic Research Promotion Division said that he expect the challenge to enclose drone service with the society and stimulate DNA+drone research owing to creativity and originality of its participants.
