Korean Artist Welfare Foundation (KAWF President: Park Young-jeong) an affiliate of Ministry of Culture Sports and Tourism (MCST Minister: Hwang Hee) announced that they included sign language and text translation program in their artist interests protection online education and improved homepage accessibility and received quality certification mark to lower huddle of information accessibility for disabled artists.

The foundation has provided interests education about contract copyright and sexual abuse to protect rights of artist and make a fair art environment. They opened an education website (kawfartist.khcu.ac.kr) that is easily accessible in 2019. The education program is made in a form of drama covering specific cases that shows how contracts and copyright issues in art industry. The program was attended by 9000 artists but disabled people had limited accessibility due to lack of sign and text language translation. The problem is solved by cooperation with Korea Disability Arts & Culture Center (President: Ahn Joong-won).

The program is built in a progress of copyright and artwork-copyright exertion-copyright infringement and limitation in IP-contract in art industry-sexual harassment prevention and confrontation. The education is free in the education website after registration.

The foundation improved accessibility of the homepage and received the ‘web accessibility quality certification mark’ from the Ministry of Science and ICT. The mark is awarded to websites that provides easy access to vulnerable class such as disabled or elderly people.

President Park said that she will do her best to improve accessibility to information about projects of foundation and necessary education.
