The Korean Intellectual Property Office reorganized an electronic application system and opened Mobile Application System on the 23rd.

It has introduced mobile application system service in March last year and from the last 23rd it has expanded the range of mobile patent application through the system which can apply for the major 4 rights such as patents utility models design rights using mobile.

Now application from overseas residents is possible to apply online for a registration of general power of attorney a filing fee and a registration fee which was previously only possible in writing and various kinds of commissions can be paid through a check from a smart phone

Also most of works of the Korean Intellectual Property Office such as receiving notice inquiry on the status of an examination issuing registration certificate can be handled mobile.

A Director of Information and Customer Support of the Korean Intellectual Property Office said Korea has introduced mobile application system for the first time among advanced intellectual property offices with more than 100000 patent application per year. And he saidDigital switchover of patent services will be accelerated and customer satisfaction will be increased.
