The worlds largest festival of womens inventions the 2024 International Womens Inventors Exposition (Expo) will be held from June 20 (Thursday) to June 22 (Saturday) at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 1 in Goyang Gyeonggi Province.

Hosted by the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and organized by the Korea Women Inventors Association this unique event showcases patents designs and other intellectual property registered by female inventors from both Korea and abroad. The Expo will feature two major events: the 24th Womens Invention Expo and the 17th Korea International Womens Invention Exposition.

Experience View and Purchase Various Womens Inventions in Fields like Food Beauty and IT

The 24th Womens Invention Expo will exhibit outstanding inventions from 80 Korean female inventors. The exhibition hall will be divided into themes such as Lifestyle Beauty & Fashion Food and Digital & Home Appliances allowing visitors to experience and purchase these innovative products firsthand. Some participating companies will also introduce and sell their products through real-time broadcasts on Naver Shopping Live. To expand sales channels for womens inventions there will also be distribution and export consultation meetings.

The 17th Korea International Womens Invention Exposition will feature the largest ever number of entries with over 400 inventions from 20 countries. On the first day (June 20) on-site evaluations will take place and awards including the Grand Prize Gold Silver and Bronze medals as well as special awards from related domestic and international organizations will be presented at the awards ceremony on the final day (June 22).

On the first day (June 20) there will be an integrated opening ceremony and an IP5 Heads of Office Talk Show. On the second day (June 21) the Global Womens Intellectual Property (IP) Leadership Academy will present invention and entrepreneurship cases from female inventors. The final day (June 22) will feature the awards ceremony for the Korea International Womens Invention Exposition.

This year in particular the Expo is linked with the IP5 Heads of Office Meeting and during the opening ceremony (June 20) a talk show will be held to discuss womens invention policies with heads of the USPTO JPO EPO and WIPO.

The IP5 Heads of Office Meeting will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul (Jongno-gu Seoul) from June 17 (Monday) to June 20 (Thursday).
On the second day (June 21) the Global Womens IP Leadership Academy will take place. Presenters include Haijin Yoon CEO of Smart Reum-bangi Co. Ltd. who developed a simple shoe dryer and Jiyoung Kang CEO of RoboArte Co. Ltd. who successfully expanded overseas with a chicken-frying robot. They will share their invention and startup experiences. Additionally IP experts will deliver lectures on topics such as branding strategies for startups based on ideas and patent information search techniques to increase registration possibilities.

Acting Commissioner of KIPO Kim Si-hyung stated The Womens Inventors Expo is a globally recognized event for female inventors as evidenced by its association with the IP5 Heads of Office Meeting. KIPO will continue to support and focus on helping female inventors grow into successful entrepreneurs.
