Designing My Own Small Garden on the Balcony

The Korea Forest Service (Director Nam Sung-hyun) announced on the 19th that it will hold the 2024 Indoor Garden Ideas Competition to discover ideas for garden creation utilizing balcony spaces.

The theme of this competition is Balcony Gardens in Daily Life seeking designs for indoor gardens applicable to apartments townhouses and multi-family homes.

Participants including high school and university students majoring in garden-related fields can enter individually or as teams of 2-3 members.

Submissions will be accepted via email (modlegarden@yeoleum.co.kr) from July 8th to July 10th 4:00 PM. Detailed guidelines and application forms for the competition can be found on the National Arboretum Garden Management Institutes website.

The judging process will select a total of four teams: one Grand Prize winner will receive the Korea Forest Service Directors Award and a prize of 1 million won while one Excellent Prize winner will receive the President of the National Arboretum Garden Management Institutes Award and a prize of 700000 won. Two Outstanding Prizes each with a prize of 300000 won will also be awarded.

The selected designs will be announced on July 18th and models of the two excellent works will be created and exhibited at garden expo venues.
